CCEE and DELE A2 examinations for citizenship: What to rent

Both tests are designed and conducted by the Institute of Cervantes, both face-to-face courses are not required for admission. [12][13]The Ministry can check the results of the examinations from the Cervantes if you have given consent in the application for citizenship. [12]I. The duration of residence and the procedure for filing are taken into account How old before nationality and Spanish citizenship by residence; Unlike residence permits and MJM: Residence permit or citizenship.

Division on 15 and 10 questions in frequent questions [14]II. Text of the questions written on the modern Spanish Pyrenean peninsula [1]The result comes in about 20 days in the private office, and there's an electronic certificate with a code of verification, and it only contains an "apto", "no apto" or "no precentado", and no points are given. [2].
Registration costs 85 me worldwide, includes the right to an examination, certificate and materials for training, and makes two attempts: if you fail to pass or fail to show up for the first time, the second goes without repayment. [3][14]If you have not come again, the payment shall not be returned or deferred [14]. You can return the money within 14 calendar days from the date of registration [4].
DELE A2: Structure and as regards the score
The DELE A2 examination consists of four parts of 25 points. Read 60 minutes, 25 assignments. Audit: 40 minutes, 25 assignments. Written expression and interaction: 45 minutes, two assignments. Oral part: 12 minutes plus 12 minutes of training, three assignments; its centre may be assigned one day before or after the main date. [7].
For the evaluation of "apto" for DELE levels A1 to B2, at least 30 points are required in each of the two rating groups: pairs of 25 points, i.e. 30 out of 50. [8]The results are received approximately two months after the written part and in the May and November sessions approximately three months later, the diploma and the electronic certificate are downloaded from the personal office. [11]If you disagree with the evaluation, one request for review can be submitted within a month: it costs 60% of the price of the examination, and the amount is returned if the evaluation changes to "apto" [11].
DELE is an indefinite diploma, a diploma that even before 2008 is suitable for citizenship and does not need to be re-sold. [15].
Date and recording: opened on 2 October 2026
CCSE is held on the last Thursday of each month except August and December, on a time-recorded system. The examination centres will agree with the candidates on the date and hour. The normal sessions of CCSE are held only in Spain. [4][15]. In 2026, there were sessions on October 29 (registration closes on October 8) and November 26 (registration until November 5). Registration for 2027 opens on November 23, 2026, the first session on January 28, 2027, the closing of registration on January 7 [4].
The DELE A2 is less frequent. 17 October (registration closed on 2 September) and 13 November (closed on 30 September) remained in 2026, so that the registration for 2027 will no longer be available for the DELE A2 in 2026). [9].
If you want to apply for citizenship in the first half of 2027, DELE A2 better plan for the February or April session and register as soon as the set opens. CCSE is reasonable to withdraw three or four months before delivery: the result comes quickly, but the certificate lives four years, and to surrender it too early to be disadvantageous. [2][4][9].
Who is released or who can receive the compensation
The citizens of 20 of the Latin American and Equatorial Guinea countries listed in the regulations are exempted from DELE, as are those who already have a DELE degree of at least A2 level. [13]. In the list of countries exempted from DELE, there is no Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine [12][13].
Those who have studied in Spain and completed compulsory secondary education (ESO) the order exempts them from both examinations: they do not need a separate request for compensation, it is sufficient to attach the documents to the application for citizenship [13]Persons who cannot read and write Spanish apply to the Ministry of Justice for partial compensation: they then surrender the adapted oral part of DELE A2 and the adapted CCSE in Spain, which must be submitted before the application for citizenship; the time limit for the decision is six months, silence is considered as a refusal. [10][13]Minors and persons with legal disabilities do not pass the examination [13][14].
Cervantes offers special conditions to candidates with disabilities (view, hearing, mobility, dyslexia and dissection): the form and documents must be sent to the examination centre within two weeks of the date [5][10].
How to Prepare:
- download free Cervantes: a manual for preparing for CCSE 2026 (which will include all the examinations from January 2026, about 25% updated compared to 2026), a test model and an official application, CCSE Nacionalidad Española. [6]. In the manual of 300 questions, on the exam there are 25 [1][14].
- Go through the issues in clusters on the themes: Constitution and institutions, rights and duties, territorial structure, then culture and everyday procedures. [1].
- The Spanish version of the questions is written, and the multilingual glossary of Cervantes is available for English, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish and Hebrew, and there is no Russian. [6][14]The CCSE has little knowledge of the facts: it is necessary to understand the terminology in Spanish.
- For DELE A2, take the official specification, the model of the examination and the manual, and they are posted on the test page. [7].
- Register in advance. For CCSE, registration is under your NIE: if you register on another document, you need to contact the Cervantes Support Service to replace [14].
- You can keep the certificates. You can allow the Ministry to check the results with the Cervantes, then you don't need to attach the proof. [12].
Typical Errors
- The registration is not based on NIE, but the registration is required for the citizenship of the Cervantes.
- CCSE is issued years before the application: certificate is valid for four years [2][13].
- Forget that DELE is rare; registration closes about five to seven weeks before the session, and if the session is over, it takes months to wait [9].
- Teaching from old versions: CCSE 2026 updated by about one quarter [6].
- They don't check the exemptions and the depenses: if you've graduated from ESO in Spain, you may not need the exams, and if you're illiterate, you have to apply for the depensation before you apply. [10][13].
- They expect to turn in CCEE outside Spain: the normal CCSE sessions are held only in Spain [4].
When Individual Review Is Needed
An individual review is needed if you cannot read Spanish, if you have health restrictions, if you have completed school in Spain, if you have a certificate of language school instead of DELE, or if the examination schedule is fixed to your legal residence, and if you are required to apply for a literacy allowance before applying for citizenship, and if the results of the examination are valid at the date of application.
