  • Contact information is available only from translators who have reported (article 14 Real Decreto 724/2020) [2].
  • The translation of a juror is available throughout Spain and does not require legalization by Spanish authorities (art. 12 RD 724/2020), so the interpreter is not obliged to live in Barcelona [2].
  • The interpreter ’s name, language or language and number are in the press by law (art. 18 RD 724/2020) and are checked by the perpetrator [2].
  • Since 8 March 2025, the translation can be certified as a qualified electronic signature under Orden AUC/213/025, and the paper version with the seal remains [3].
  • The Catalan translator is led by Generalitat de Catalunya, not the MFA. [4].

How to find a juror in Barcelona: short answer

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) maintains a single register of Translators, Tradectores-intérpretes jurados, and publishes a list of the languages in which each is admitted. [1][2]The Ministry's page contains a search of Buscador de tradatores e en interpretes jurados, and you choose the original language, e.g. Russian or Ukrainian, and you get translators with this language. [1].

You're doing everything directly. [1]The price, duration and format will be agreed with the interpreter: under article 16 Real Decreto 724/2020, he will award the fee freely. [2].

We don't publish the translators' lists and recommend no one: the relevant data are only available in the Ministry's registry, what is the translation of a jury and what is the value of it, is discussed in the article. juror's translation for SpainThis is a practice: how to choose an artist, check it and order it without a change.

Where to look: official anti-advertisement list

The request for "tradecion jurada Barcelona" in the search engine is issued by the agency and the translation office. The words "jurada" or "official" in the ad do not prove that the signature will be given by the person with the title. Compare the sources.

The city is irrelevant. Official translation is exempt from legalisation when it is required to act in front of Spanish administrations, and no provincial ties are normal. [2]An interpreter from Madrid or Valencia will be available for delivery in Barcelona. [3].

How to check the juror before ordering

The check takes several minutes and is based on three rules of Real Decreto 724/2020. Each translator is entered into a single register and receives his or her number (art. 13). The list of names and languages is published on the Ministry ’s website (art. 14). [2].

  1. Ask the interpreter or agency for the name and number of the person who will sign the translation.
  2. Find that name at Buscador on exteriores.gob.es [1].
  3. Check that the tolerance language is consistent with the language of your document. The title is given in a specific language, not in "all languages".
  4. When you get the translation, check the seal with the list data: name, language and number must match [2].

If the interpreter is not on the list, the translation will not be a jury, however well it is done. If there are no contacts on the list, it does not mean that the interpreter is not working: he simply did not report them. [2]. Questions about the registry can be asked to the bureau at interpretes.jurados@maec.es, listed on the Ministry page [4].

Catalan: a separate register

In Barcelona, there are times when a transfer is needed to Catalan or Catalan, where the Catalan, Galisian and Basque ministries have not conducted examinations since 1992, and the titles are given to the communities themselves. [4]For Catalan, the register is maintained by the Secretariat of Política Lingüística Generalitat de Catalunya, and is referenced on the MFA page. [4].

Documents issued in Catalonia in Catalan are not usually required for the public administration in Catalonia: article 15 Ley 39/2015 allows the use of community language in authorities located in Catalonia [8]If the document goes to an organ outside Catalonia, check the requirements of that body.

How the order goes:

  1. List of documents. Get a complete list of your procedure requirements. The Board of Auditors has also reviewed the status of the claim for residence permits..
  2. Apostille before the transfer. Translation of the entire document, along with the apostille. The translator cannot change, sign or seal the original, so errors correct before translation from the authority that issued the document. [5]For Russia, the order is described in the article apostille on Russian documents.
  3. Letter to two or three translators. The same set, scans, format, and date for translation.
  4. Comparison of estimates. There's no Tariq. [2]- Compare the unit of calculation, the time and the price.
  5. Transfer of documents. A copy of the original, sealed and dated on each page, is attached to the translation. [2]If the interpreter needs an original in his hands, please specify in advance.
  6. Receive and check. Check the names, dates and numbers with the passport and the original.
  7. The pitch. The translation is done with the original document, not in its place.

All the way with the check sheets is collected on the route sheet. juror translation by step.

What to Ask an Interpreter Before Paying

You ask the answer in writing, it's your estimate and your defence against disputes.

  • Your name and number are on the M.E.'s register, your admission language.
  • The price of the whole set: What is considered to be a unit (page, document, word), whether stamps and apostilles are translated at the same price.
  • There is no official time limit for juror translation, it's called an interpreter.
  • Format: stamped paper, electronic PDF with qualified signature or both, number of copies, delivery.
  • What I need is a scan, an original, a page of the overseas passport to write names.
  • How is the interpreter's error corrected if it's found after the extradition?

If you order through an agency, add a question about who physically signs the transfer. [2].

Paper transfer or electronic signature

Orden AUC/213/025, effective 8 March 2025, allows the juror to certify the translation by electronic signature. A qualified individual certificate is required, the signature covers the original and translation together, the PadES format is preferred for the texts, i.e. the PDF signed. The signature can be checked on valide.redsara. [3].

Electronic form replaces but does not exclude paper: handwritten translation and printing also works [3]The practical choice depends on the way you deliver the file. For online delivery via the sede, a more convenient signed PDF. For personal application to the extranjería or the consulate, specify whether the electronic file is accepted or order paper. Do not print the electronic translation in the calculation that the paper copy will retain the signature: the signature exists in the file itself.

Foreign and consular transfers

Article 17 Real Decreto 724/2020 recognizes as official not only translation of Translators, but also translations made or accepted as their Spanish embassy or consulate and translations made in Spain by the consulate of a foreign State. [2]The Ministry ’s reference to documents for extenuation (Hoja 61) also refers to these options with specific conditions for legalization. [6].

With the transfer of a local interpreter in Russia, Ukraine or another country, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs allows for his legalization: first, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the translation was made, then the Spanish Mission, and the Ministry expressly warns that some Spanish administrations may not accept such translations. [5]For the homologation of the diploma, the Ministry of Science accepts translations of official translators from other countries, subject to the legalization of the signature of the interpreter [7]. For a residence permit, a jury transfer is more reliable in Spain.

Names from Russian and Ukrainian documents

The problems with the translation of Russian-speaking applicants are most often not from an interpreter but from a Latin woman. The name of the foreign passport, old diploma, marriage certificate and bank certificate can be written differently. The translator transmits the original text and needs your clue to write the names.

  • Give the translator the scan of the page of the foreign passport and ask him to use this writing.
  • If your last name has changed, please attach a change of name and notify me of it.
  • Check the translation from NIE or TIE if it already exists.

If the family has different writing options, you decide before you order the translations, then you have to redo a few documents.

Typical errors in the selection of an interpreter

  • The name is not checked by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' list.
  • They take an interpreter with a similar but different language of admission.
  • They only look for Barcelona, although an interpreter from every province will come.
  • Only compare the price per page and not ask if the apostille and stamp are translated.
  • They order a transfer to the apostille and then pay for a separate translation of the stamp.
  • Request a translation of the certificate, which will be valid by the date of delivery. [7].

When Individual Review Is Needed

The review is necessary if the agency has already returned the documents with the claim for translation (see para. How to Answer Requerimiento, if you have a transfer from abroad and it is unclear whether it will be accepted if the documents are from different countries or with different names. The answer here depends on the procedure and the department.
