Student visa to Spain: step by step

The student visa to Spain (visado de estancia de larga Duración por estudios) is applied to the consulate of the municipality of residence at least two months before you start your studies, when you have already enrolled and paid for the training, the decision on the residence permit is taken by the ichiina de extrandjería and the consulate issues the visa itself.

What is a student visa and what is the permit behind it?

A student visa to Spain is a national visa for more than 90 days, which gives the right to enter and remain in Spain as estancia de larga Duración (long term stay) for study. [1].

What kind of study is suitable for a student visa?

Not all studies qualify for a student visa, but the rules name five types, and the other things depend on the type: where to serve, whether to work, whether to take a family.

Student visa to Spain: step application

  1. The admission and payment. You can get confirmation of admission and tuition fees, and there must be start and end dates, and there's a course and loans for the university. [2]. Without this, the consulate will not consider the application [1].

  4. Legalization and translation.   6. Waiting for a decision. The Consulate requests a decision on authorization. The OFICINA de extranjería responds within seven days, then the Consulate issues a visa within one month. [1].

Can you apply for a student visa from Spain?

Under article 54 of the regulations, you can apply for a residence in Spain if you are a university degree, you are a full-age adult and are legally present in the country, for example, under an existing permit or visa, and must apply to the province where studies begin at least two months before the beginning of studies and at least two months before the end of the period of study. your current legal status [1].

Typical errors in delivery

  • The center is off the register. Course fees do not replace a recognized or authorized centre: this is a direct ground for refusal under article 54 [1].
  • Language course is the wrong format. For teaching activities, face-to-face classes are taken in official schools of languages or accredited centres, and the mother tongue is not counted [1].
  • The pitch is two months later, without explanation. The regulations required that the reason for the delay should be confirmed by document; what the consulate did if it did not exist, he did not specify [1].
  • A certificate of incriminatingness without apostille and translation. It is necessary if the stay is longer than 180 days and the consulate in Moscow has requested a document from all countries over the past five years. [2].
  • The funds in the account of a stranger without contact with the complainant. The consulate in Moscow accepts parents' own money or money: bank certificate and three months' discharge [2].

What after a visa: work, family and extension
